DANA HARRIS LATHAM- Dana Harris, 93 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes with her loving sister by her side. Born on January 4th 1921 in Plattsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Anna (Halpin) Harris. Upon graduating from high school, Dana worked as a cashier at a grocery store until moving to Menands. Once in Menands she then worked for Montgomery Wards in the mail order department for many years until the store closed. She then went to work for the New York State Department of Tax and Finance and retired in 2001 after 24 years of service. She is survived by her sisters: Rose M. Harris of Arlington, VA, Florence (John) Hanchar of Lansing, IL and Clara M. Laplante of Latham along with several nieces and nephews. Dana was predeceased by her siblings George W. Harris, Arthur W. Harris, Mary G. Reeves and Lella M. Proctor and her brother in law Lawrence Laplante. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Eddy Village Green House 22 for the excellent care Dana received. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
