PAUL RAMUNDO JR.
Colonie- Paul Ramundo Jr., 86, a lifelong resident of Colonie, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Ellis Hospital, in Schenectady.
Born in Albany on February 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Tuillapano) Ramundo Sr. Paul was married to the former Angeline Nuciforo and the two shared a blessed union of 64 years prior to his passing. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946-1947.
Paul was employed as a Truck Driver for Pacific Intermountain Express in West Albany for over 30 years a position he eventually retired from. He also worked on the family farm on Sand Creek Road for many years. Paul was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192, West Albany Italian Benevolent Association as well as the Troy and West Albany Bocce League. He was a former teamster with local #294. He loved NASCAR as well as the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He was an avid Bocce Ball player. His greatest joy in the world was his family and he was very proud of his yard.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children: Paul (Linda) D. Ramundo of Latham, Patrick J. (Karen Moehle) Ramundo of Schenectady and John (Maureen) Ramundo of Latham, as well as his 6 cherished grandchildren: Jason (Mariah Ingleston) Ramundo, Joel (Rebecca) Ramundo, Jaimie Lynn (William) Babarczy, Andrea Sue (Jake Schutz) Ramundo, Scott (Kayla Calhoun) Ramundo and Sean Ramundo; 5 adored great grandchildren: Nicholas and Justin Ramundo, Emily, Ryan and Allison Babarczy as well as his siblings: Nancy Iacobucci and James Ramundo both of Albany and his sisters in law Margaret Nuciforo, Patricia Lee Ramundo and Patricia Selig Ramundo.
He is predeceased by his siblings: Daniel, Vito, Joseph, Anthony, Richard, Robert, Lucy and Michael.
Funeral Services will be Saturday March 8 at 8:00 a.m. from the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Road Latham and at 9:30 am in Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville with Fr. Alan Jupin officiating
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday March 7, 2014 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
