Obituary of Elizabeth B. Englat

ELIZABETH B. ENGLAT Latham- Elizabeth B. Englat, 85 of Latham, beloved wife of Thomas A. Englat. for over 65 years, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Eddy Village Green, in Cohoes. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Pauquin) Casey. Mrs. Englat married her beloved Thomas A. Englat on January 3, 1944. The two lived in North Carolina for a year while her husband Tom was in the military and also resided in New Port Arkansas for a year. She has resided in Latham since 1952 and was an active communicant of St. Ambrose Church where she volunteered at school in the 1990's. Elizabeth worked as a Bank Teller, for State Bank of Albany for several years and later was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Farina in Latham for 5 years. She was active with the Cohoes High School Alumni Association which she enjoyed greatly. Elizabeth and Tom enjoyed traveling extensively in Europe during the 1980's. She took great pleasure in feeding birds and wild turkey's in her back yard. Her greatest pleasure came from being with her cherished grandchildren and great - grandchildren. Survivors in addition to her husband are her loving children Sandra (Paul) A. Fazackerley of Oak Hill, VA and Thomas (Kathleen) A. Englat of Latham, her brother William Caisse of Lexington , KY her cherished grandchildren, Bridget (Sean) Murray, Adam (Amy) Fazackerley; and Matthew Englat her great grandchildren, Andrew, Miles and Caden Fazackerley; her brother William (Bernie) Caisse of Kentucky and sister in law Josephine Englat of Virginia, Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother John Casey and his wife Joan, her sister Joan Barringer and her husband Robert and brother in law William Englat. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday March 4, at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
