East Greenbush- Harriet Scoons 89, of East Greenbush passed away peacefully on March 1, 2014.
Born September 14th, 1924 in Albany, Harriet was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Scharff) Henk. Harriet had been predeceased by her beloved husband Paul Scoons on August 9th 1994.
A Latham Resident of the Fort Ferry area for from 1957 until 2007, she was a Secretary employed by Shaker High School in Latham for over 17 years until retiring in 1979. She was also a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America and of the Grace Lutheran Church in Niskayuna. She loved to travel with her friends and family.
Survivors include her loving son Mike Scoons of East Greenbush, Sister Miriam Dunkerley of Menands and Florida her great-grandchildren Justice and Danielle Scoons and great-great grandson Daniel Scoons. She was the dear friend of Pam Couch of Loudonville and Casey Prediletto of Latham. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Harriet was pre-deceased by siblings Kenneth, Robert, William, and Eleanor Henk and her grandson Daniel.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham.
Relatives and Friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment will take place in the spring at St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Evergreen Commons and Loudonville Adult Home for the love and care given to Harriett during her stay with them.
