Obituary of Jennie Sidoti

Latham- Jennie Sidoti 90, of Latham passed away peacefully on Friday February 14, 2014 with her loving son Chuck at her side in Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. . Born May 14th 1923 in Lapio, Italy, Jennie was the daughter of the late Angelo R. and Fiorenza Carbone. Jennie had been predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles "Camelo" D. Sidoti on April 2nd, 2010 after Fifty-Five cherished years of marriage. Mrs. Sidoti was an employee at the Ashe Manufacturing Co. in Rensselaer for seventeen years. She was involved with food service for Times Union and State Educational Building, eventually becoming a Cafeteria Manager for the Albany Savings Bank. She worked there for over 10 years until retiring in 1985. During summer vacations, she enjoyed spending her time visiting the Adirondacks, Las Vegas and the Ocean. Jennie's hobbies also included reading, sewing, and gardening. Survivors of Jennie include her son Charles A. Sidoti of Latham, Sister Mary "Ida" (Pasquale) Rocco of Albany, along with several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday February 18, 2014 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday February 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Interment will take place next to her beloved husband Charles in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. The family would like to thank the Fatima Unit of Our Lady of Mercy for their love and care shown to Jennie during her stay with them.
