Obituary of Marie A. Keevern

MARIE A. KEEVERN Clifton Park- Marie A. Keevern, 84, of Clifton Park, beloved wife of John Keevern, passed away peacefully on Monday January 20, 2014 at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. . Born July 8, 1929 in Troy, Marie was the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Richter) Dorfner. Marie was married to John Keevern on May 14, 1955 and the two shared a bless union of love and devotion of almost 59 years together. Marie was an Attendance Clerk for the Shenendehowa Central School District in Clifton Park for many years. She was also a former member of the Vischer Ferry Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Halfmoon Senior Citizens and a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Crescent. Marie has always been known for her sweet disposition, her compassion and her love of dancing. In addition to her beloved husband she is survived by her loving children; William (Denise) Keevern of IN, Michael (Lorri) Keevern of CA, Julia (Will) Cook of Latham and Marie Anne (Tom) Occhiogrosso of Ballston Lake and her 5 cherished grandchildren; Christopher, Shawn, Elisabeth, Timothy, Brian (Suzanne) and 2 adored great grandchildren; William and Christian. She is also survived by her sister; Ruth Slonneger of IL, her brother in law Hank Reiser of Troy and several nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by her granddaughter Lynn Marie Cook and her siblings John, Walter, Elsie Adams, and Helen. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday January 23, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road, Waterford. Fr. Joseph Cebula will officiate. Interment will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
