Obituary of Francis "Frank" R. Sala

Loudonville-Francis "Frank" R. Sala, 69 of Loudonville, beloved husband of Charlotte C. Martel Sala died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his home in Loudonville. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jane (Olszowy) Sala. He married his beloved Charlotte C. Martel on April 18, 1965 and the two have shared a blessed union of 48 years. He was a graduate of Keveny Memorial Academy in Cohoes and Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in mechanical engineering. Frank was a Lab Technician employed by Norton-St.Gobain in Watervliet for over 35 years and later worked for the New York State Parks and Recreation. He enjoyed slot machines and puzzles. His biggest love in life was his children and especially his grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Robert Sala of Wichita, KS, Matthew Sala of Oahu, HI and Stephen (Danielle) Sala of Ballston Lake, his cherished grandchildren Robert and Daniel Sala of Maplewood and their mother Mary Babeyko, Stephanie and Slade Sala of Los Angeles, CA, Annabelle and Genevieve Sala, his sister Joanne (Eugene) Kromrey of Waterford, brothers Joseph (the late Margaret) Sala of Cohoes and Ronald (Mary Ann) Sala of Latham. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday December 18, 2013 from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. A Mass will be held Thursday December 19, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Anthony Barratt officiating. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
