CHARLES J. ERTELT Latham- Charles J. Ertelt, 90 of Latham, beloved husband of Genevieve Young Ertelt, entered into eternal life on Tuesday December 10, 2013 atAlbanyMemorialHospital. Born August 23rd 1923 inKingston, Charles was the son of the late William and Mary (Bishop) Ertelt. He married Genevieve Young on July 20, 1949, cherishing a union 64years of marriage before his death. Mr. Ertelt was a graduate ofIndianaUniversitywhere he earned his bachelors degree. He proudly served during World War II in the US Navy. Charles was a Certified Public Accountant and served as Corporate Controller for Atlantic Cement in Ravena. He was a former president of the Financial Executives at Albany Chapter and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children: Catherine Ertelt, Jeanne Sickler, Robert Ertelt, Paul Ertelt, Richard James (Kathy) Ertelt and Michael Joseph (Angela) Ertelt. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Erin Marie, David, Meghan & Riley James. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday December 12, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church,498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
