NANCY K. URE Clifton Park- Nancy K. Ure of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on Saturday September 14, 2013. . Born on September 22nd 1920 in Granville, NY, Nancy was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Barry) Cavanaugh. She had been predeceased by her beloved husband John P. Knott on August 22nd 1943. Nancy was a Chief Operator, employed by NY Telephone in Troy. She was employed there for forty-two years before retirement in 1984. She was a member at the Board of Directors of Union at NY Telephone and of the Troy Senior Center. She was involved in many local bowling leagues where she made many friends. Survivors include her niece Maryann Cavanaugh of East Greenbush and nephews Barry and Michael Cavanaugh, her son-in-law Joseph LaSpisa of Clifton Park. She was predeceased by beloved daughter Carolyn, grandson John D. Barthel, twin brother John Cavanaugh and son-in-law Donald H. Barthel. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 noon at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Tebordo officiating. Interment will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
