Nina Rose Pagano
Florida- Born on Christmas Day in 1918 to Rocco C. and Mary (Tarullo) Mazzaferro, Nina grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School and Mildred Elley Business School. She married Daniel Pagano on June 19, 1943. After 25 years of service in the NYS Conservation Department, she retired to her home in Loudonville and summer place on Lake George. She was widowed in 2005 and moved with her daughter to St. Augustine, Florida.
After several years of debilitating illness, Nina passed on September 5, 2013 at the Moultrie Creek Nursing Home, St. Augustine, Florida. She is survived by her son, William D., wife Roseann and grandson Daniel, wife Sage, and daughter Lucille Carhart, fiance Lew Perkowsky, and granddaughter, Melody and husband Michael Mosher. Her brothers, Thomas and Rocco and sister, Margaret Markham all have passed.
Nina was the happiest of people, always with a smile and a kind word for friend or stranger, honest almost to a fault and with excellent homemaking skills. (Best apple pie in creation!) She will be missed by all who knew her.
