JOHN H. WATKINSON Glenmont- John H. Watkinson, 87 of Glenmont formerly of Loudonville, beloved husband of Elizabeth D. Burke Watkinson passed away suddenly Sunday February 15, 2009 at his home in Glenmont. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late John H. and Catherine (McNamara) Watkinson. He was educated at the City College of New York and Siena College in Loudonville. Mr. Watkinson married his beloved Elizabeth D. Burke on September 13, 1947 in Hollis, Long Island. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945. John was a Salesman, employed by United States Plywood in Albany for over 40 years retiring in 1984. He was former member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192, the Latham Kiwanis Club and a longtime communicant of St. Pius X in Loudonville. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Mary Jane Madden of Cohoes, John (Colleen) Watkinson III of Scottsdale, AZ , Timothy (Ellen Tanner) Watkinson of Albany, Anne (Leonard) Visconti of Los Angeles, CA, Christopher (Margaret) Watkinson of Richmond, ME, Paul (Jennifer) Watkinson of San Diego, CA, Beth (Richard) Hartunian of Delmar and James (Sharon) Watkinson of Delmar, he was the brother of Doris Watkinson, Kathleen Dorff , and William Watkinson all of PA, he is also survived by 14 cherished grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Duffy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday February 23, 2009 at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena, 40 Hopewell St. Albany with Rev. Kenneth Doyle officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday Feb 22, from 2-5 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Veterans Administration Hospital, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 Interment with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
