J. PATRICK KEENAN
Newtonville-John Patrick Keenan, 74 of Newtonville, beloved husband of Marie C. Glodzik Keenan, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born in Rochester, he was the son of the late Dr. John S. and the late Ann (Gleason) Keenan. He was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School, Marquette University and The Wall Street School of Finance. He was a Stock Broker/ Consultant at various area brokerage homes in the Capital District until his retirement. Pat served as a medic in the Army National Guard and was a former member of the Colonie Elks Lodge and the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years: Marie C.(Glodzik) Keenan, his children Patrick J. Keenan, Timothy K. (Sharon Denman) Keenan and Bryan M. (Patrice) Keenan, his only grandchild Grace Marie Keenan who he sends a special message to "Don't ever forget that troll under the bridge." He is survived by his sister in law Maureen Keenan and niece Kerry (Matthew) Millea, his niece Erin Roche and nephew Peter Roche. Pat was very close to his four Dolan and six Reznick nieces and nephews who were greatly humored by his "Irish Wit". In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his twin sister "Kitty" Roche Fleming and brother Kevin E. Keenan.
He will be remembered for his good nature, unique kindness, wild sense of humor, love of athletics, devotion to his family, great wisdom, and ability to invoke a smile or laugh. He won't be remembered for being able to fix anything mechanical, but his colorful language when trying to fix anything mechanical will always be cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 28, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Historic Church of St. Mary's, corner of Lodge and Pine Streets in Albany with Rev. John Provost officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday June 27, 2013 from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment will be private at the convenience of family in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
