ROSE F. HARTLEY
Latham- Rose F. Hartley, 95 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Frank M. Hartley, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Hope Residence with her loving family by her side.
Born August 9, 1917 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late George and Rosalie (Krajca) Beno. Rose was married to Frank M. Hartley and the two shared a blessed union of love and devotion prior to his passing on March 28, 1996.
She was a 1935 graduate of Albany High School. After graduation, she attended Albany Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1939. During the early 1940's, Rose was involved in home nursing care and public health nursing in Troy and was also a Registered Nurse at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Rose was a former member of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Latham Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and a dedicated volunteer at Our Lady of Hope. She was the past president of the Colonie Elks Auxiliary #2192 and was also involved with the Verdoy Fire Co. where she was treasurer. All of her involvement and achievements led her to proudly receive the Sylvia Dill Woman of the Year award.
She is survived by her loving children: Patricia A Fitzgerald of Watervliet, Rose Marie Gras of Melborne, FL and Frank R. and his wife Betty Hartley of Halfmoon as well as her 7 cherished grandchildren; Michael, Marc, Tara, Colleen and Keri Fitzgerald and Bill Boccagni and Angela Tisdell and her adored great grandchildren; Kristina Blair, Brandon and Savana Fitzgerald and Amanda Tisdell
She is predeceased by her siblings; Joseph Beno and Agnes Krempl.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday June 16, 2013 from 3-6 pm at Our Lady of Hope Chapel, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 17 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Hope Chapel, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or to your favorite charity.
Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
