JAMES DRAKE MCLAUGHLIN Albany- James Drake McLaughlin, long-time resident in Albany, passed away on April 23, 2013 after a period of deteriorating health due to cancer. He was born on April 11, 1942 in Boston, MA to Joseph Karl and Shirley Jane McLaughlin and spent his early childhood in Wenham, MA. He graduated from Shaker High School in North Colonie in 1960 and attended Union College in Schenectady, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1964. He was employed at AT&T Long Lines in his early career and subsequently at Fort Knox, KY and the Veterans Administration in Albany, NY. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, stationed at Fort Knox, KY. He is survived by his son, Bryan McLaughlin and daughter, Melyssa Wadlington, as well as four grandchildren, Kayley, Derek, Braeden and Ronan. He is also survived by his younger three siblings, John McLaughlin, Kathryn Montgomery and Hugh McLaughlin, and a myriad of nieces and nephews. James will be interred in the McLaughlin Family plot at Memory Gardens, Colonie at the convenience of the family.
