Obituary of Alfred J. Louis Jr.

ALFRED J. LOUIS JR. REXFORD-Alfred J. Louis, Jr., 46 of Rexford, beloved husband of Joyce L. Brown Louis entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Lafayette, LA, he was the son of Alfred J. Louis I and Virgie L.(Reddick) Louis. He attended Creighton Prep in Omaha Nebraska and Louisiana State University before being called to serve his country in the United States Marines in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He then returned to the U.S. and completed his degree at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Alfred has been employed by General Electric for over 13 years in various positions in Norwalk, CT, Pittsfield MA and was currently the Human Resource Manager at General Electric in Niskayuna for the last 4 years. He was a member of the African American Forum. Al was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast and reader who loved cooking and traveling with his beloved family. He enjoyed meeting new people and helping people. Survivors in addition include his loving children Stephanie Bradley of Normal, IL, Justin Bradley of Youngsville, LA, Victoria Louis, Jalissa Brown, and Cameron Louis all of Rexford, NY his cherished grandson Jalen Louis, his sister Tyra J. (Michael) Louis-Steinke of Phoenix, AZ and maternal grandmother, Marguerite Ragas of Pt. Sulphur, LA. Funeral services with military honors will be held Sunday April 28, 2013 at 5:00 pm in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery Omaha, Nebraska.
