Obituary of Mary Bernadette Gettings

MARY BERNADETTE GETTINGS Latham- Mary Bernadette Gettings, 87 of Latham, beloved wife of the late William P. Gettings died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. and Mary M. (Nolan) Murray. She was a homemaker who loved baking and cooking for her large family. Bernadette was an avid reader and world traveler. She volunteered at Our Lady of Hope in Latham for many years and for the meals on wheels program. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Survivors include her loving children Catherine G. (David) Morgan of Medway, MA and Brian V. Gettings of Pittstown, NY, her siblings Francis J. Murray of Troy, Paul E. Murray of Mechanicville, Donald E. Murray of Troy, Joanne E. (Albert) Caron of Troy, Rosemary R. Lattof of Latham, and James V. Murray of Troy, her cherished grandchildren Robert, Emily, Kara and Abigail Morgan and sister-in-law Diane Murray, she is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews to whom she was affectionately known as "Nan". She was pre-deceased by her siblings John T. Murray, Norine M. Murray, Robert W. Murray and Gavin M. Murray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday February 19, 2013 from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
