ELIZABETH A. BABCOCK Watervliet- Elizabeth A "Betty" Babcock, 90 of Watervliet, beloved wife of the late Alford Babcock, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at her home in Watervliet. Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Leo F. and Marguerite (Ryan) Denue. She was educated in St. Brigid's School and graduate of Watervliet High School. Betty was employed by the NYS Health Department as a supervisor for several years. She was previously employed by NY Telephone and Cluett & Peabody Co in Troy. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She resided in Florida for the winter for many years. Betty was a former member of St. Brigid's Altar-Rosary Society and many other organizations. Survivors include her sisters Margaret F. Kruegler and Catherine Barrett as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Alford Babcock who died in World War II and her son Robert Babcock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 12:00 noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 2416 7th Avenue, Watervliet with Rev. Edward Deimeke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday from 10: 30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be next to her son and parents in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Contributions to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Rd.
