ALBERT C. GREENE JR.
Latham- Albert C. Greene, Jr., 60 of Latham, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Al was born in Utica, on October 3, 1952 and was raised in Old Forge, NY. He was the son of the late Albert C. and Mary (Weaver) Greene Sr. Al was married to Cindy Greene on November 25, 1989 and the two shared a blessed union of almost 24 years together.
Al was currently employed with Goldstein Enterprises in Latham as a Sales Associate for the last several years. He was the former owner of the Pied Piper Restaurant in Old Forge and the former owner & operator of Ellie Mae's Restaurant on Wolf Rd. for many years. He loved cars and drag racing in his younger years. Al loved his family vacations to Wildwood, NJ. He enjoyed watching Shaker Girls Softball games and visiting his daughter at Champlain College in Burlington Vt.
He had a love for fishing and was a softball coach for the Latham Lassies for several years. Al was a true friend and family man and enjoyed playing Santa. He was a wonderful chef who enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his 2 daughters. He was also an ordained minister and was a huge fan of the NY Mets & NY Jets
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his loving daughters: Kendall Greene, Casey Green and her boyfriend Nicholas Smith. He is also survived by his siblings Michael & Kelly Greene, Jeff & Phoebe Greene and Lorie & Todd Brosemer all of Old Forge, NY as well as his canine companions Daphne & Charles; many nieces & nephews, wonderful and lifelong friends especially Devnet & William Chandler and his cherished dinner group.
Al is predeceased by his sister, Christine Doggett
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday February 15 from 3-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday February 16 at 10:00 am at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 129 Old Loudon Rd, Latham with Fr. Richard Lehmann officiating.
Interment will take place in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
