ALBERT J. CHARBONNEAU JR. Colonie- Albert J. Charbonneau Jr., 68 of Cohoes, beloved husband of Marguerite Lynn Kelly Charbonneau, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Albany Medical Center. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Albert and Florence (St. Hilaire) Charbonneau Sr. He was a graduate of Keveny Academy in Cohoes. Albert was a Truck Driver, employed by Howards Express in Colonie, until retiring in 1997. He was the former co-owner of Charbie's Lunch Box and Chubby's Subs of Lansingburg with his brother Ken. Al was employed for several years as a private driver for Columbia Development Corp. He was the treasurer of the NYS Champions Council, Past President of local 294 retirees where he retired from after 34 years of service. He was active in the Northeast Professional Truck Drivers Charity Challenge to benefit St. Jude's. and was a member of the NYS Truck Driving Championship. He was an avid NY Giant and NY Yankee fan. Al enjoyed traveling and camping at Deer Run with his family and friends and looked forward to his visits to the Holiday Inn in Lake George. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Michael (Danielle) Charbonneau of Baldwinsville, Timothy (Renee) Charbonneau of Cohoes, John Charbonneau of Watervliet, Ronald (Kim) LaValle of Cohoes, Kevin Charbonneau of Cohoes, Charlene LaValle of South Carolina. He is also survived by his siblings Ronald (Donna) Charbonneau of Carmel, and Debra (Dennis) Searles of Cambridge and was the cherished grandfather of Ronald, Ryan, Katelyn, Matthew, Brett, Courtney, Scott, Timothy, Aaron and Rachael. He is also survived by his dear friend, Richard Krolak and several nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen Owens Charbonneau and his brother Kenneth Charbonneau. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to North Colonie EMS, the Albany Medical Center Emergency Dept as well as the MICU at Albany Med for their kind, compassionate and loving care they have given to Al. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 2, 2013 at 9:30 am in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. John Phillippe officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
