Obituary of Dorothy "DeeDee" L. Oakes

DOROTHY L. OAKES Latham - Dorothy "DeeDee" L. Oakes, 49 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Community Hospice at Memorial Hospital, in Albany. Born in Glens Falls on April 8, 1963, she was the daughter of the late John and Marilyn (Dumas) Oakes. DeeDee was employed with the Internal Revenue Service in Latham as a Data Analyst retiring in 2011 after 25 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed working out at Gold's Gym, traveling and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her cherished daughter at home Angela Prezio who was the light and center of her life as well as her loving sisters: Sharon (Mark) Madden of Lake Worth, FL, Margaret (Michael) Terry of Chestertown and Cindy (Skip) Speziali of Bradenton, FL; nieces & nephews: Billy, Michael, Patrick, Alisha, Dannon, Patrick, Brittani & Ami. Great nieces: Ella & Analise and her Godparents: Michael & Connie Cleveland of Lake George DeeDee is predeceased by her sister: Bonnie Morehouse. In keeping with her wishes there is no visitation Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 7, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Fr. Francis Dubois will officiate.
