EDWARD THOMAS BROWN
ROTTERDAM - Edward Thomas Brown, 74 of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Friday November 16, 2012 with his loving family by his side.
Born in Manhattan on February 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Edward Thomas and Christina (Byrne) Brown. Ed was married to the former Maria Gaio on December 18, 1965 and the two shared a blessed union of 47 years together. Edward proudly served in the US Army.
He was employed with the US Postal Service at the Heritage Post Office in Schenectady as a Letter Carrier, a position he retired from. Edward was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Schenectady. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed nature, and loved gardening.
In addition to his beloved wife Edward is survived by his loving children: Brendan (Susan) E. Brown of Esperance and Jennifer (Daniel) Maria Tommasone of Rotterdam and his cherished grandchildren: Ryan and Mark Brown and Anna, Daniel and Gabriel Tommasone. He is also survived by his siblings Bernie Brown of Middleburgh, Harold Brown of Rotterdam, Eileen Martello of NJ and Michael Brown of Long Island, as well as his dear friend Harry Izzo and many nieces & nephews.
He is predeceased by his Brothers: Brendan & Kevin Brown
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday November 19, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue. Rotterdam
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 20 at 9:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam.
Contributions can be made in Edward's memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady County. 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
