FRANCES E. MADDEN
Loudonville - Frances Elizabeth Madden, a lifelong resident of Loudonville, and beloved wife of the late James J. Madden Jr., passed away peacefully and in her sleep on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the St Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany. She had her family nearby when she went home to the Father. She is finally at peace and in comfort after a long fight.
She was born March 1, 1918 in Albany to the late Walter J. and Elizabeth (Coburn) Mooney. She spent her early years studying at her beloved Albany Academy for Girl and was a proud graduate of the school. She held it dearly in her heart all these years. Her friends and the school itself were a grand memory for her. She lived in Albany and Saratoga in her youth. During the War she lived in Sumter, SC where her husband was a Captain in the Army Air Corp, before going overseas to serve in the Pacific.
Frances served in business as a girl with her father at the Frank B. Graves Company and continued to serve that company through 1980. She also served on the board of directors and as an officer of Ballston Knitting Co., Inc. and Oakdale Knitting Co., Inc. Her service to those companies was forever appreciated.
She is survived by her loving children: W. Bradley (Candace) Madden of Loudonville and James J. III (Gracia) Madden of North Creek as well as her cherished grandchildren, James (Sean) Madden, Kelly & Erin Madden and great grandchildren: James and Jack Madden. She was predeceased by her grandson Kyle Patrick Madden.
Services for Frances will be held privately at the convenience of the family from the Dufresne & Cavanaugh funeral home in Latham.
Entombment will take place in the family mausoleum at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff of St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany for the care given to Frances during her stay with them.
Donations may be made in her name to the North Country Outreach Center, Post Office Box 201, North Creek, NY 12853.
