Obituary of Ralph J. Gruner

RALPH J. GRUNER Troy- Ralph J. Gruner, 84 of Troy, passed away peacefully on Friday November 2, 2012 at the Eddy Memorial Geriatrics Center in Troy. . Born in Englewood NJ, on March 14, 1928, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph G. and Mary (Wiggleworth) Gruner. Ralph was married to the former Alice D. Guellich on February 1, 1957 and the two shared over 51 blessed years together prior to her passing on December 14, 2008. Ralph proudly served in the U.S Navy. He then became a mechanic employed with United Airlines in Newark, NJ retiring in 1985 after 25 years of service. Once retired, Ralph moved to Rome, NY where he enjoyed the country life for more than twenty years. Survivors include his beloved children, Ralph (Cuc) D. Gruner of Austin TX, Brian (Patty) Gruner of Troy, and Gail D. Sutphen of Fords, NJ., as well as 6 cherished grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother James (Kathy) Brigante of Arizona. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday November 7, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held immediately following the visitation at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Nick TeBordo will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ralph's name to the Terrace at Beverwyck, 41 Beverwyck Lane, Slingerlands, NY 12159.
