Obituary of Joseph H. Morehead

JOSEPH H. MOREHEAD Colonie- Joseph H. Morehead of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the age of 81. He is survived by his beloved wife Bebe and son Adam. Joe attended undergraduate school at Trinity College (Connecticut), where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Salutatorian with Honors in English., Subsequently, he earned Masters degrees at Columbia University (NY) and the University of Kentucky, and a doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley. Following graduation from Trinity College, Joe served in the United States Air Force in Korea during the Korean War. At various times he was an Assistant Professor of English at Orlando (Florida) Junior College; an Education Advisor, U.S. Department of the Air Force, London England; a Librarian at the San Francisco Public Library; and a lecturer at the California College of Arts & Crafts, Oakland, California. He was a professor in the School of Information Science & Policy, State University of New York at Albany, from 1970 until his retirement in 1999. While at school, Joe authored books; wrote articles and reviews; gave addresses at professional conferences & conducted workshops & seminars. He was the recipient of a number of national honors & awards.
