MARCEL J. HEINS Latham- Marcel J. Heins, 85, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Albany Memorial Hospital with his loving wife and daughter at his side. He was born June 2, 1927 in Cohoes, the eldest child of the late Napoleon and Ida (Lemieux) Heins. Marcel was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retiree of the former Al-Tech Specialty Steel Co. He had many hobbies including gardening and woodcarving. He was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle solver, and an avid New York Yankees fan. He is survived by his wife Anna, with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on August 5, 2012, and their daughter Barbara Heins of Greenwich, CT. He also is survived by his sister, Lucille West of Latham, and brothers Paul of Novi, Mich., Robert of Calabash, N.C., and Raymond of Cohoes, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Paul. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday August 15, 2012 from 11:00-12 Noon at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 Noon following the visitation at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
