Obituary of Seth F. Gold

SETH F. GOLD Clifton Park- Seth F. Gold, 64 of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Ellis Hospital with his family by his side. Seth fought his battle against cancer with courage & grace. He was the son of the late Aaron A. and Ruth W. Gold. A native of Albany, he grew up in Latham and graduated from Shaker High School and attended Parsons College in Iowa. Seth had many careers, the latest as a bus driver for CDTA. He drove STAR buses and enjoyed getting to know and helping his regular passengers. Among his favorites were his elderly ladies who shared many interesting stories & jokes. Seth was active in scouting & enjoyed skiing and other outdoor sports. He was active in the N. Colonie Ambulance Squad and the Verdoy Vol. Fire Dept, where he served many years as a commissioner & held many civil and line offices. Seth will be remembered by his family & friends as a truly caring and compassionate man who was always ready and willing to help anyone. No matter where he found himself or what the task was he always had the right gadget or gizmo on him or near him to help complete that task. He was a longtime donor of blood and plasmapheresis. He volunteered for Gilda's Club and was active in Hope Club where he derived solace from his Thursday group. Seth was a devoted husband to Barbara Ann Coleman and a loving stepfather to Maureen Coleman, Michele Mallett, Ronald Jr., Michael & Timothy Coleman Sr. and cherished grandfather to Emily, Timothy Jr., Tyler, Kaitlin, Shea & Patrick. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Stephen Hillinger & the Staff of NYOH as well as the physicians & staff of the Ellis Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
