EDWARD F. CRUPI
Loudonville- Edward F. Crupi, 84 of Loudonville, beloved husband of Lebra Mango Crupi, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy.
Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Adelia (Naccari) Crupi. Mr. Crupi married the love of his life Lebra Mango on July 23, 1950 and the two have shared a blessed union of over 62 years.
He was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1946 and received his bachelor's degree from Union College in 1950. He was a Chemist and Engineer for Sterling Drug in Renssselaer from 1950 until 1990, with various responsibilities for project engineering and Product Development. He also helped pilot new drugs and assisted in design and start of new factories in Puerto Rico and Kansas. He retired as Director responsible for plant and community safety, health and environmental affairs. After his retirement he served as consultant to the Sterling Organics Division of Sterling Drug. Ed loved golf, fishing, archery, hunting, gardening, building and refinishing furniture and restoring antiques. He was a volunteer and former vice-president at North Greenbush Ambulance Service from 1950- 1960. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 where he served as Chairman of the Trustees. At the Elks he also provided programmable key board music to many social events including the Disabled American Veterans. He was a volunteer for the Disabled American Veterans for over 25 years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving daughter Carol Crupi-Kemp of Loudonville, his cherished grandchildren Paula (Michael) Ragaini, Peter (Stacey) Fusco, Katherine (Jesse) St. John, Gregory Kemp and Carlo Fusco, he was the adored great-grandfather of, Peter Joseph Fusco III, Michael Vincent Ragaini, Gabriel (James) Fusco, Nicholas Edward Ragaini and Capriana Marie Fusco. Ed was pre-deceased by his daughter Pamela Crupi-Fusco and brother Peter Crupi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road Loudonville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment Memory's Garden, Colonie.
