MARY KATHERINE GARDINER Latham- Mary Katherine "Katie" Gardiner, 35 of Latham, passed gently on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany, she was the loving daughter of Peggy Ann (Flanders) Gardiner of Latham and the late Albert Maust Gardiner. Katie a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1991 also attended Maria College in Albany. She was a loved and devoted employee of Roger Martel and Martel's Restaurant at Capital Hills in Albany for the last 15 years. Her biggest joy in life was loving and being loved by her three little angels Nicholas, Ben and Lizzie B. Katie's smile and laughter brought light to everyone's life she touched. Survivors in addition to her mother include her cherished children Nicholas Andrew Gardiner, Benjamin Gardiner Anastasio and Elizabeth Belle Anastasio all of Latham, the love of her life David Anastasio of Latham her loving brother Scott A. (Leanda Beauregard) Gardiner of Latham, her niece, Madison Elaine Gardiner, her aunt, Pamela Gardiner, cousins, Jeffrey Gardiner, Michelle Gardiner and Matthew Gardiner, her best friend, Kathleen Nadeau, David's parents Joseph and Ann Anastasio and David's sisters Michelle (Tony) Anastasio and Kathleen Wiley and family. She is also survived by many loving friends. Funeral Service will be Wednesday January 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey Burke. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
