Obituary of Matje Van Bergen

MATJE VAN BERGEN Latham- Matje Van Bergen, 89 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Adrian J. Van Bergen, died Monday January 19, 2009 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Aalsmeer, Holland she was the daughter of the late Dirk and Kryntje (Van De Laarse) Spaargaren. Matje was a Seamstress, employed by Juliet House of Brides for many Years. She was an active member of the Colonie Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed sewing, knitting & shopping. She loved nothing more in the world than being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her cherished children Adrian J. Van Bergen Jr., Manja (James) Dagastine and Mary (Chuck) Bednarczyk of Colonie. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Matje was predeceased by her Brother, Dirk Spaargaren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday from 10:00 - 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be with her beloved husband in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
