MURIEL A. LANDRY Latham- Muriel A. (Conlen) Landry, 88 of Latham, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, two days short of her 89th birthday. Born in Troy on June 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Elizabeth A. (Molloy) Conlen. She attended Watervliet & Troy Schools and was a 1940 graduate of Catholic Central High School. Muriel was married to Chester O. Landry; they were married on April 25, 1943 in Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy, and celebrated 56 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1999. She lived is Latham most of her married life with a brief residence in Big Spring, TX during WWII when Chet was in the service. They also maintained a vacation home on Brant Lake for 40 years. Muriel spent her last year at the Terrace at Glen Eddy in Niskayuna. Muriel worked for IBM and then management for Cluett Peabody for 20 years; she then worked as a Bookkeeper at Colonie Liquor, eventually retiring in 1973. Following her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed many winters spent in Ormond Beach, FL. In recent years she volunteered for a time in the day rehabilitation program of Wildwood Programs. She enjoyed reading & spending time with her family's pets and was particularly proud of her Irish Heritage. She was also a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Muriel is survived by her loving nieces & nephews; Kathleen LeBeau and her husband Loren Fadding, Patricia L. Burns & her children Pamela & Christopher Malo, Doris Lepp & David Landry and their families; her sister in law Mildred Landry and many devoted friends including the Metzger, Kalikowski & Schontz families and the Hardy, Hogan & Fletcher families as well as others who passed before her, most recently her very dear friend Joan Gallagher. She is predeceased by her sister Mary Eileen Conlen LeBeau (1986) & nephew Gerald W. LeBeau (1972). The family thanks the wonderful staff of the Terrace at Glen Eddy for their considerable & kind care and support to Muriel through the last year. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday June 19 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday morning June 19 from 8:30-9:30 am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of Muriel to the charity of one's choice or to Northeast Kidney, 103 Orlando Avenue, Albany, NY 12203 for programs & services.
