CANDACE B. MALMBORG Latham- Candace Bartlett Malmborg, 55, passed away at home on Thursday, May 31, 2012. Candace was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was the daughter of Elgin Grigsby Bartlett and Eve (Ramsey) Bartlett. She graduated from Shamrock High School and attended Emory University before marrying Charles J. Malmborg and moving to the Albany area where she became a full time mother to three wonderful children and soul mate to her loving husband. Candy will always be remembered for her irrepressible optimism, positive spirit and love of life. Throughout her long illness, she served as a role model to many for her dignity and courage. She leaves her adoring husband of 33 years, Charles J. Malmborg, her three children, Christine Malmborg of Menands, Sara Malmborg of Latham and John Malmborg of Albany, and her grandson Noah John Malmborg. Candace also leaves behind her best friend for over 20 years, Pamela Roddy of Brunswick, her older sister and other best friend, Patricia McCord of Huntsville, Alabama, and her sister, Shelley English of Jacksonville, Florida. Candace was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. The family wishes to thank Dr. David N. Hornick for his outstanding and dedicated care over many years of Candy's illness and the many kind and caring nurses of the Albany and Saratoga VNA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alliance for the Homebound, c/o Homedical Associates, 1737 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12309. A memorial service celebrating Candy's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 10 at the Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
