RITA ZUCCONI DOODIAN
Latham- Rita Z. Doodian, 79, a longtime resident of Latham and beloved wife of Louis E. Doodian, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Evergreen Commons, in East Greenbush.
Born in New York City on April 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Albina Zucconi. Rita married Louis E. Doodian on February 8, 1958, and the two had shared a blessed union of over 54 years of love and devotion together.
Rita was employed as a Tax Auditor with the Internal Revenue Service a position she retired from after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Apostolate of the Suffering & Nocturnal Adoration Society as well as a longtime and dedicated volunteer at Our Lady of Hope in Latham and a member of the Association of Jeanne Jugan.
In addition to her beloved husband: Louis, she is survived by her loving daughter: Michele M. Doodian of Latham. Rita cherished in her heart the memory of her son Paul M. Doodian, who passed away in 1977. She is also survived by her 2 sisters: Mary Remancus of Hoosick Falls & Dina Ariemma of Schenectady, several nieces and nephews as well as her sister in law Josephine (Christopher) Long and brother in law George Doodian.
The family would like to thank the staff of 1-Greenbush & 1 Schodack at Evergreen Commons for their care and love given to Rita.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday May 31, 2012 from 5-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita will be held on Friday June 1 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham. Fr. Geoffrey Burke will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Joseph's House, 74 Ferry St. Troy, NY 12180
Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.
