ANNE G. SCRIPPS Loudonville- Anne G. Scripps, 90 of Loudonville, a woman with a strong commitment to her faith, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Teresian House in Albany. Born in Detroit, MI on August 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Grace (Cronin) Gibbs. She was married to James E. Scripps III and the two shared a blessed union prior to his passing in 1987. Anne was a school teacher at the Academy of the Holy Names for several years and at one time was a model for John Powers in NYC. She was also a member of Missionary of Christ Crucified, a Grey Lady at the Veterans Hospital and Eucharistic minister at Julie Blair Nursing Home; as well as DAME of Malta. She was also a Member of the 3rd order of St. Francis for over 25 years, The Kenwood Braille in Albany and Children of Mary. Anne was one of the founding members of the Albany Chapter of the Ladies of Charity, and former member of Schuyler Meadows Country Club. She was a member of the Christ Child Society and Treasurer for the Tuberculosis Society in Detroit. Her deep faith brought her to travel to Lourdes on 4 different occasions, Our Lady of Fatima & St. Joseph's Shrine in Montreal. Anne was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Her family was her foremost priority and she loved spending time with them. She is survived by her loving children: James E. (Patti) Scripps of Loudonville and Mary (Bob) Carmody of Charlotte, VT; her 5 cherished grandchildren: Alex Romeo, Christine Leahy, Katherine Ramos, Jimmy Scripps & Tori Scrippscarmody; 6 great grandchildren as well as her brother Richard Gibbs of Detroit, MI and several nieces & nephews. Anne is predeceased by her daughter: Anne Morell, her sister Marjorie Sloan and her brother Dr. William H. Gibbs. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday May 28, 2012 from 4-6 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 29 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Propagation of the Faith, 40 North Main Ave, Albany, NY 12203 Interment will take place next to her husband in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
