VINCENT L. SOLDANI Sr. Latham-Vincent L. Soldani Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at his home with his loving family at his side after a long and courageous battle with ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease. Born in Albany on February 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Gino and Catherine (Nusco) Soldani. Vince graduated from Catholic Central High School class of 1951 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Western Electric/AT&T until he retired in 1989. Vince is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa (Tozzi) Soldani, of 56 years; his 7 loving children Gene Soldani of Santa Rosa , CA, Katherine (Mike) Cowan of Latham, Vincent (Laura) Soldani Jr. of Galway, NY, Mark Soldani of Clifton Park, Laurie (Fred) Bellinger of Latham, Dina (Leo) Haggerty of Latham and Andrea (Jim) Litinski of Milford, MA, 15 cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Mary (Pat) Casale, Joseph (The Late Gloria) Soldani, Catherine (The Late Bob) Gullie, Gino Soldani and Andrew Soldani. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Vince was a member of many organizations including the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus Council #3394, the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192, the American Legion #1450 and the VFW post 7411. He was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. He was an avid golfer at the Town of Colonie Golf Course as well as a New York Yankee and Giant fan. Vince was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends when needed. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. We'd like to give a special thanks to Judy Mulroy and his granddaughter, Rachael, for all of the care they have given to him during this time. We'd also like to thank the staff of the ALS Center, the VA and Hospice for all of the support they have provided during Vince's illness. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday May 17, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at The Dufrense and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Interment with full military honors will be on Monday May 21, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
