Obituary of Bertha R. Ryan

BERTHA R. RYAN Bertha Rose Ryan, 79, of Cohoes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March, 27, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital after a long bout with Alzheimer's. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Ryan, and her parents Mary Lamarre Lemieux and Leo Lemieux, her dear brother George Lemieux, and her three cherished sisters Florence Turner Flanagan, Irene Welcome and little sister Gloria Piazza. Survivors include her loving daughter Kathleen L. Ryan of Cohoes who dedicated the last years of her life in taking personal care of her Mother at home and at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes; her loving son, Daniel T. Ryan, daughter-in-law, Colleen M. Ryan, and two treasured grandchildren, Daniel T. Ryan Jr. and Alyssa M. Ryan of Ballston Spa. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Alice Cuerdon (Waltham MA); brother-in-law Salvatore Piazza (Troy), and several adored nieces and nephews. A graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, Bertha was employed by the former Goldberg's in Troy. She was a long time member of St. Joseph's Church in Cohoes, a member of the St. Joseph's Activities Society, the St. Anne Society, and the Cohoes Columbiettes. She was very active in her church and family. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 31, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Augustine's Church, 25 115th Street, Troy Fr. John Tallman will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday morning March 31 from 8:00- 10:00 am at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
