JANE A. O'SHAUGHNESSY
Latham- Jane O'Shaughnessy, 87 of Fiddlers Lane, Latham, passed away in her home on March 9, 2012. As the brilliant morning sunshine filled the room, Mom left us to join Dad, who had left us just 10 months ago.
Mom was a resident of the Albany area all of her life, living in Latham most of that time. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph's College in Emmitsburg, MD where she received a 4 year academic scholarship. She and Dad married in 1948 and she spent the rest of her life devoted to the raising of her 5 children. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham & St. Philip's Church in Willsboro, NY. For the past 56 years, Mom spent her summers and retirement at her home in Lake Champlain.
Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank. She is survived by her 4 children, Kathleen of Latham, Dennis and his wife Donna of Glenmont, Susan and her husband Daniel Walsh of Agawam, MA. & Brigit and her husband Dr. Lawrence Robinson of Slingerlands. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Dennis O'Shaughnessy Jr. and his wife Nicole of Delmar, Kelly Favorite and her husband Nicholas of NC; Frances Walsh & Bridget Walsh of Agawam, MA. and 2 great grandchildren, Michael and Joseph O'Shaughnessy of Delmar.
Jane was predeceased by her son, Michael O'Shaughnessy and her sister Rose King. She was Auntie Jane to several nieces & nephews of the King family of Ravena, NY and was a dear friend to Gail O'Shaughnessy.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday March 14 from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday March 15 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham.
Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Willsboro, NY in the spring.
The family would like to thank the wonderful, gentle ladies of Angelina's Nursing Care who took great care of Mom: Alisha Jason, Bennie McLean, Marquia McLean & Amanda Fennick.
