FRANCIS "JAKE" T. NOLAN Latham - Francis T. Nolan, 80, passed into the arms of the Lord on January 28, 2012. Born in Albany, NY on August 25, 1931, he was the son of Thomas F. Nolan Sr. and Marie D. Barton Nolan. He and his beloved wife, Julie moved to Latham in 1956. Jake attended Albany Public Schools, served in the US Army during the Korean conflict and attended Siena College. He worked at Cluett & Peabody in Troy and for several State agencies as their Data Processing / Information Systems Director. He retired in 1995 from the Office of General Services. Early in his career he taught Data Processing at Albany Business College. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church and over the years served on several ministries. He was the husband of Julia O'Brien Nolan who died July 14, 2006 after 54 years of wedded bliss. Survivors include his five loving children, Terence (Elizabeth), Walpole, MA, Tracy (Nancy), Lantana, TX Steven (Karen), Schenectady, NY, Judith Gallagher (Michael) Raleigh, NC, and Colleen, Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Mary Kate, Michelle, Stephanie, Allison, Christopher, Caitlin, Kevin; two great grandchildren Aidan and Connor; a sister Dolores Stuart, Colonie, NY; many nieces and nephews and friend Pauline Jesmain, Cohoes, NY. His son Michael and four brothers, Harold, Thomas Jr. Andrew, and Edward predeceased him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday February 2 at 9:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday February 1 from 4-8 P.M. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. The family would like to request in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Jake's name to the Saint Ambrose Building Fund, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY 12110 or the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., PO Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241-8629 Interment will take place in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
