MARY T. BURKE Latham- Mary T. Burke of Latham, beloved wife of the late Francis C. Burke, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 15, 2011 at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late John and Delia (Patnode) Kane. Mary was employed with the Troy District Shirt Company in Troy as a Machine Operator for 25 years; she then worked for Cluett Peabody for 5 years. Mary was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society & Young at Heart there, as well as the Watervliet VFW Auxiliary and Colonie Senior Citizens. She was also an active bowler at Latham Bowl and at one time worked in the cafeteria at Fort Ferry School for 5 years. Mary is survived by her loving step-son: Roy (Marta) Burke of Tilton, NH as well as her 3 grandchildren; her brother John Kane of Latham and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Cecelia Dedrick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday December 18, 2011 from 2-4 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 19, 2011 at 9:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Fr. Francis DuBois will officiate In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY 12110.
