Obituary of Margaret R. Costa

MARGARET R. COSTA Latham-Margaret R. Costa, 93 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Nicholas M. Costa., entered into eternal life on Monday, August 22, 2011 at her home in Latham with her cherished family at her side. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Nancy (Balletta) Patalino. She was a hairdresser with the Charm Beauty Salon in Troy as a young woman. Margaret was a member of the S.W. Pitts Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary, she loved to Cook, Crochet, Knit and Gardening. The biggest joy in her life was the beautiful family that she and her late husband Nick shared. Margaret was a loving, warm, giving individual who always had a kind word. Everyone was her "Dolly" Survivors include her devoted children Frank A. Costa Sr., Anthony N. Costa and Lisa (Vaughn) VanVleck all of Latham, loving daughter-in-law Rosemary Crawford, her beloved grandchildren Samantha Nicole VanVleck, Frank Costa Jr. , Nick Costa, Doreen Costa and Ed (Brandy) Costa, her cherished great-grandchildren Nikki Phae Costa, Brenna Claire Costa and Gavin Edward Costa, her sisters Josie Terry and Jane Marino and brother Albert Petalino. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 26, 2011 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
