ALICE D. GRUNER Troy- Alice D. Gruner, 81 of Troy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Eddy-Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes where she was currently a resident. Born in Jersey City New Jersey on December 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Matilda (Venino) Guellich. Alice was married to Ralph J. Gruner on February 1, 1957, and the two shared a blessed union of love and devotion for over 51 years. She was a homemaker who tended to her families needs with the utmost love and dedication. At one time Alice was a Den mother for the Cub Scouts and a member of the St. Anne's Guild at Zion Episcopal Church in Rome, NY. Survivors in addition to her beloved husband Ralph include her loving children; Ralph (Coc) D. Gruner of Austin TX, Brian (Patty) Gruner of Troy and Gail D. Sutphen of Woodbridge, NJ as well as 6 cherished grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. A celebration of Alice's life will take place at 6:30 pm Wednesday, immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Rev. Nick TeBordo will officiate.
