Obituary of Erwin "Andy" W. Andrews

ERWIN W. ANDREWS Albany- Erwin "Andy" W. Andrews, 80 of Albany, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8 at Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. Born in Syracuse on October 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Mamie Passino. Andy was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Sergeant. He married the former Eva C. Danby on October 29, 1955 and the two shared a blessed union of almost 56 years prior to his passing. At one time Andy was the owner of Midway Heating Service for several years. Following that he was the Publication Officer for the NY Army National Guard in Albany, a position he retired from in 1994. Andy was a former member of the Midway FD. and Social member of the Westmere FD as well as the Colonie Elks #2192. Past Commandant of the Capt. Wm. Dale O'Brien Marine Corps League in Albany and a member of the Men's Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8692. In addition to his beloved wife Eva, he is survived by his loving children: Tina M. Jacobus & Dale J. Andrews both of Colonie and Fred A. (Kay) Andrews of Kinderhook as well as his 6 cherished grandchildren; Amy, Robert, Kandi, Joseph, Grant & Clint and adored great grandson Brayden. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday May 11 from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 12 at 9:00 am at St. Clarie's Church, 1947 Central Avenue, Albany.
