JOHN F. PONIATOWSKI Latham-John F. Poniatowski of Latham, beloved husband of the late Genevieve Rajczewski Poniatowski entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at his home in Latham with his loving family and friends at his side. Born in Albany he was the son of the late John and Frances Wolniakowski Poniatowski. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard. John was employed by the State University at Albany for many years retiring in 1995. He loved working in and around his home. You could often find him riding his prized John Deere tractor. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He loved woodworking and masonry. John was a member of the Albany Polish-American Citizens Club in Albany. Survivors include his loving children Joanne (Will) DiMirra, James (Moira) Poniatowski, Joseph Poniatowski and Julie (Brian) O'Donnell, 3 sisters Dorothy, Claire and Florence and 8 cherished grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his sister Mary Boski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels in Colonie. Donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 5 Computer Drive West Albany, NY 12205 in memory of John would be appreciated.
