WILLIAM J. AUSTIN
Latham- William J. Austin, 79 of Latham, beloved husband of Marina A. Doukas Austin, entered into eternal life on Monday, January 31, 2011 Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Dillon) Austin. He was raised in Watervliet and was a graduate of Watervliet High School. He married his beloved Marina A. Doukas on November 5, 1955 and the two have shared a blessed union of over 55 years. He was employed in the quality control department of Norton Company in Watervliet for over 30 years before retiring in 1992. Bill was a Latham resident since 1955 and was a member of the Senior Citizens bowling league at Spare Time Bowl. He was a former member of the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus, the Latham Rotary, the Holy Names Society at St. Ambrose, the S.W. Pitts Hose Co. He loved camping, traveling and bowling
Survivors in addition to his wife include his cherished children, Lawrence Austin of Latham, Joseph (Olga) Austin of Watervliet, Timothy (Karen) Austin of Loudonville, Michael Austin of Texas, his cherished grandchildren Christopher, Cynthia, Andrew, Brendan, Madison, Carter and Cody Austin,
his brother Richard (Elizabeth) Austin of Troy and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his brother, Paul Austin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 5, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet.
