Obituary of Elizabeth M. Jackson

ELIZABETH M. JACKSON Schenectady- Elizabeth M. Jackson, 83, affectionately known to her family as "RaRa", currently a resident of Baptist Nursing Home in Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17 at Community Hospice at Ellis Hospital. Born in Montclair, NJ on March 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Jane (Moran) Jackson. Elizabeth was employed at one time with the Brooklyn Federal Savings Bank as a Teller & Bank Manager. She was also the Past President of the Brooklyn Professional Women's Association. As a cat lover she worked with many feline rescue groups and cared for many cats with love and affection over the years. She is survived by her loving niece: Dorothea Carr of Clifton Park, Grand niece: Jane (Roger) Goff, Grand nephews: Donald (Cheryl) Benesch & Daniel Carr-Benesch as well as her great grand nieces Megan & Ashleigh Goff and Great grand nephew: Jack Benesch. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:00 noon at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Fr. Francis Dubois will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Elizabeth's honor to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 Entombment will take place in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
