Obituary of Emilia Vellozzi

EMILIA VELLOZZI WATERVLIET- Emilia Vellozzi, 85 of Watervliet, beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Vellozzi, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Formia Italy on July 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Congetta (DiBello) Tommasino. She married Thomas J. Vellozzi and the two shared a blessed union of 56 years prior to his passing in 2004. Emilia was a loving and dedicated wife and homemaker. She worked along side her husband Thomas at the Vellozzi Farm in Maplewood. A devout woman, Emilia's life revolved around her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and she loved being with her grandchildren. Emilia was a skilled gardener and her flower garden was an extraordinary creation she took great pride in. She also enjoyed needlework as well as crocheting and embroidery. She is survived by her loving children: Louise (James) Kelly, Anna (Daniel) Conway and Thomas (Maribeth) S. Vellozzi all of Latham as well as her 4 cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Jessica, Gabrielle and Joshua. She is also survived by her sister Immacolata Conte of Italy and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Giovanni, Giocomo, Pasquale, Maria, Teresa & Elvira. The family would like to send a special thank you to all of Emilia's physicians especially Dr. Joseph Roglieri for their exceptional care and concern. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Of Padua, 28 State Street, Troy.
