Obituary of Alice "Sis" Ellett

ALICE "Sis" ELLETT Latham- Alice "Sis" Ellett, 80 of Latham, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Albany Medical Center, in Albany. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Richard A. Mary E. (LaPlante) Ellett. Alice grew up in Cohoes and graduated from Catholic Central High School class of 1948. She worked at R.P.I. in Troy for over 34 years as a Lab Technician retiring in 1996. She also formerly worked for the NYS Health Department. She was an avid bowler, bowling with the Jackson Ave. Women, the Capital District Womens Classic League, State Bowling Supply and the Odd's and Ends. Alice held leadership offices in local and state bowling organizations. She was the former President, Vice-President and director of the Troy W.B.A. and Troy Women's 600 bowling club. She was former Vice president, Sergeant at Arms and Director of the Troy YABA. She was a certified Coach Instructor for youth bowlers at Green Island Lanes, Troy Bowl and Uncle Sam Lanes. Survivors include her loving daughter Margaret (Peg) Ellett of Latham, sister Shirley A. Ellett of Latham, her cherished granddaughter Jessica Ellett, She is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews, 39 grand nieces and nephews and 22, great-nieces and nephews, as well as her four legged companions Luke and Libby. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Frances Muzio and brother, H. Vincent Ellett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 10, 2010 at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. Contributions to the Community Maternity Services 27 North Main Ave. Albany, NY 12202 in memory of "Sis" would be appreciated.
