Obituary of Bernice M. Conroy

Latham-Bernice M. "Bunny" Conroy, 80 of Latham, entered into eternal life on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. Born and educated in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Helen (Piwnica) Paluch and wife of the late William E.Conroy. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception School in Watervliet and Watervliet High School class of 1948. She was employed, the New York State Senate for many years until her retirement in 1988. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother in Latham and volunteered at the Pruyn House, The Shaker Heritage Society, Our Lady of Hope Residence. She was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, the AARP, the Joseph Zaloga Post of the American Legion and the Colonie Senior Citizen Club. Survivors include her cherished children, William J. (Melanie) Conroy of Shrewsbury, MA, Edward M. (Lisa) Conroy of Oswego, Frank (Bettina) Conroy of Latham, Michael A. (Lisa) Conroy of Voorheesville, and Diane (Joe) Conroy-Lacivita of Latham, she was the sister of Joan (Ralph) Beebe, MaryAnn (Frank) Messier, cherished grandmother of Kelly, Christopher, Willie, Frankie, Grace, Corrin, Cailyn and Kendra Conroy, Franie, Catherine and Louis LaCivita. She was predeceased by her sister, Agnes (Ray) Hennesy, Estelle (Ted) Gabrykewicz, sister, Annette Promerecki and brothers Stanley (Helen) Paluch and Joseph (Kay) Paluch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 24, 2010 at 11:30 am in Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. Interment Memory's Garden, Colonie.
