Lawrence W. Laplante
Latham- Lawrence W. Laplante, of Latham passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 27, 2010
He was the son of the late Leander and Grace (LaForce) Laplante of Plattsburgh.
Larry was born in Plattsburgh and attended catholic schools there. He was a World War II veteran and saw action in France and Belgium and was a member of the 7th Armored Division. After the war he went to R.P.I in Troy and graduated in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Larry worked for A.J. Eckert in Albany for 7 years and then for Tougher Industries in Menands for 25 years.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Clara and his 2 loving sons; James (Leslie) of Colonie and Jay of Petersburgh as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers: J. Omer & Gerald Laplante, Rev. Alphonse Laplante, O.M.I. and his sisters: Anita & Rita Laplante.
Larry's family would like to thank the Hospice Community of Albany County, for the wonderful care he received.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
