Obituary of Francis X. Monahan Jr.

FRANCIS X. MONAHAN JR. Clifton Park- Francis "Frank" X. Monahan Jr., 66 of Clifton Park, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at his home. Born in Jersey City, NJ on June 24, 1942, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Catherine (Flynn) Monahan Sr. Frank was raised and educated in New Jersey where he was an accomplished track star while attending St. Rose High School in Belmar, NJ. He was also a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. While living in Englewood New Jersey, he was employed by Georgia Pacific in NYC as a Sales Manager, a position he retired from in 2001. He enjoyed the outdoors especially sailing, as well as hunting. He also loved to travel and was an avid world history buff. Frank enjoyed the time he spent with his cousins and was very active in their lives. Frank is survived by his loving cousins; Maryann (Jim) Fazzone of Latham, Joann Breslin, Denise Dorn, and Debroah Balkus all of NJ, Donna (Dennis Baryza) Schultz of MD, and Marshall (Carol) Schultz of FL and his 2nd Cousin's Justin Fazzone and Michael Fazzone with whom he shared a special closeness as well as, Michele Reale and Colleen Dorn and several other 1st and 2nd cousins. Funeral Services for Frank will be held Saturday November 15 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Geoffrey Burke. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday November 15 from 9-10 am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Michael J.
