GENEVIEVE ECONOME Colonie-Genevieve Econome, 84 of Albany, beloved wife of the late George J. Econome, went home to a higher power on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Lucia (Cardo) Giordano. She was raised and educated in Troy. Genevieve was a homemaker. She was an avid bingo player known for her banana and pumpkin breads to all her friends and family. She had a special love of animals. Survivors include her children James Z. (Joseph Kenyeres) Amanatides of Latham, Georgia Amanatides of Albany and Despina "Desi" Amanatides of Colonie her grandchildren Leslie (Scott) Carl, David Hudson, Sarah Hudson and Demetri Amanatides and her fiancee Russell Toedt. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews, as well as her feline companions Smokey, Leo and Frankie. She was predeceased by her siblings James Giordano, Frances Ryan, Philip Giordano and Josephine Densmore. Funeral Services will be Tuesday July 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham. Relatives and friends are invited an may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Interment Memory's Garden, Colonie.
